In recent years, with increasingly strict environmental requirements, it has become very important to reasonably select the filtration wind speed of bag filters in the design of bag filters. Choosing the correct filtering wind speed not only plays an important role in controlling pollution and protecting the environment, but also in improving the ability of equipment to handle dusty gases, reducing equipment investment, and thus reducing engineering costs.
The relationship between filtering wind speed and dust removal efficiency, filtering resistance, and dust removal performance can be analyzed from the following three aspects:
1. In terms of dust removal efficiency. We know that in terms of dust removal mechanism, there are inertia effects (including collision, interception) and diffusion effects. For dust particle size, the particle size is 1 μ Fine dust below m can be effectively collected through diffusion effect, and reducing the filtration wind speed appropriately can improve dust removal efficiency; Particle size 5-15 μ Dust within m can be effectively captured using inertial effects, and increasing the filtration wind speed can improve dust removal efficiency.
2. In terms of filtration resistance. The increase or decrease in filtration wind speed is not directly proportional to the increase or decrease in filtration resistance. It is incorrect to simply use the method of reducing filtration wind speed to reduce filtration resistance and thus reduce operating costs, as the rate of change in filtration resistance is smaller than the rate of change in filtration wind speed.
3. In terms of ash cleaning performance. The cleaning performance of dust is greatly related to its properties, such as viscosity, particle size, and bulk density. Dust has high viscosity, small particle size, and small bulk density, making it difficult to clean. Therefore, the filtering wind speed should be lower, and vice versa, higher. For a certain bag filter, the dust cleaning performance mainly depends on the properties of the dust and its dust containing gas, not all dust. As long as the filtering wind speed is lower, the dust cleaning ability can be enhanced. In addition, when the filter material is determined, reducing the filtration wind speed can extend the cleaning cycle, but the lifespan of the dust removal bag does not entirely depend on the cleaning cycle. Because when a certain filtering wind speed is determined, there is a significant difference in filtering wind speed between different parts of the cloth bag.
